Yummy Granola Bars

These are my delicious homemade granola bars! I found the recipe at www.smittenkitchen.com and made a few changes. I am not one for cooking fruit, but added dry cranberries anyway. Thinking now that I will just do a combo of nuts next time. THey are super yummy, but am ready to change the recipe!!

Julie/Julia Project

I am sitting here on President's Day, watching "Julie & Julia" and wishing that I was spending a lot of time in my kitchen. I feel like I have been neglecting my passion. Food is what I love and what I love to do. Now, there are some things I could never cook - like lobster, and the beef gelatin thingy - EWW!! However, I am adventurous, and there are so many things I want to try. Who knows, maybe my blog will be made into a book and then into a movie. :^)

New Stuff

Woo Hoo!! My new mixer is here, so I get to start baking and cooking again. I am uber excited!!

Love these - they fold away or squish together to take up less space. They are temp safe up to 650 degrees, just in case I leave them too close to the stove.

My new mixing bowls. I love the colors. Plus, they match the cups and spoons above.

Pretty sure these will be put away til next year. Not even sure I will use them, they are so cute!

Porterhouse and Mac & Cheese

I grilled some Porterhouse steaks the other night and made some macaroni & cheese. Homemade delicious bread crumbs, two different cheeses, and just delish! Hands down the best mac & cheese I have ever made. I think I could bake this in a contest and win some money!!

Potato Soup and Parmesan Popovers

I got the recipe for these parmesan popovers from Giada DeLaurentis. The secret? Do not open the oven until it is time to pull them out. It makes a huge difference.

Amanda and I made some phenomenal potato soup the other day. It took us about a month to perfect this recipe. It is so unbelievably yummy!
